Browsing Search Results

By default, Advanced File Organizer shows search results (files and folders found) according to their arrival. You can sort the search results by any column. It works in the same way as in the main Advanced File Organizer Window.

So, it is possible to sort search results in any of these columns by clicking the column header. Click the column header one more time to reverse the sorting order.

You can also change the order of columns. To do this, drag the column header you want to move and drop it where you want.

Note.

The following fields are available: Name, Size, Modified, Location, Category, Description, Type.

Open In Explorer.

All found files and folders can be opened in the Explorer. Select the file or folder you want to open. Click the right mouse button to bring up the context menu. Select the 'Open in Explorer' item. The Explorer window will appear.

Locate In Catalog.

The next operation which can be done with files and folders from search results is locating them in the Catalog. Select the file or folder you want to locate. Click the right mouse button to bring up the context menu. Select 'Locate in Catalog' item. After that you can see the selected file (or folder) position in the current Catalog. The search window will be closed, but you can restore it by using the Tools | Search menu item. The results of the previous search query are stored in this window, so they will not be lost.

Browsing the Properties.

You can also browse properties of the found files and folders Click the right mouse button on the desired file or folder. Select the 'Properties' item in the context menu.

Exporting Search Results To the *.CSV Format.

To export the search results to Excel using the Comma Separated Values format (*.csv), do the following. Search for files and folders using the Tools | Search menu item. Click the Export Result button. In the dialog window that appears select the required file. The file with search results can be opened in MS Excel.

Note

For export the entire Catalog use the *.* template for searching.
