AFORG. AFORG is a brief name for Advanced File Organizer, used for convenience.

Catalog. Catalog is a structure of files, folders and disks. Advanced File Organizer catalogs the names and properties of files, folders and disks you select. You make your own catalog of your disks with custom categories (which can be hierarchical). Catalog is saved as a file with the ".afo" extension.

Category Tree. Organizing files, folders and disks with Advanced File Organizer means dividing them into groups. You define these groups (called categories), and organize them in easy-to-create hierarchy called Category Tree. Advanced File Organizer shows files and folders in two ways: according to the categories they belong to or according to their location.

Explorer View. The traditional Windows Explorer format with the "tree" in a left window and the contents of a selected folder in the right window. Explorer View reflects real location of files, folders and disks. Additionally Advanced File Organizer shows the properties of each file in a separate window. Here it is possible to set a category for every file.

Category View. The final result of the organizing process is files, folders, and disks divided into Categories according to the Category Tree structure. Category View is a way to visualize the final result. In this View you can see all files and folders sorted by their categories (and categories themselves). On one hand every Category consists of files and folders associated with it, on the other hand every Category can include the lower level categories. So, the Category View lets to browse Categories and sorted files and folders.
